This post involves spoilers, even if it attempts to remain vague.

So, let's say this is True and Permanent and Never-Ending and not just an attempt to grab some headline space.

Let's say Marvel has the idiocy | gall | balls to off a character that not only helped define their course since he returned at the dawn of the Silver Age, but remains an icon that practically everyone recognizes, even people that have never glanced at a comic book's interior.

Let's say that this isn't a fake-out involving Nick Fury (who's been conveniently absent for some time) and a plan that's going to culminate in the big, epic crossover event that will surely follow World War Hulk.

I've still got this and this and this and this and this and this , along with this and this, not to mention two volumes like this. Heck, one of my favorite stories featuring the character is getting reprinted in July. I can even - heaven forbid - dig in back issue bins and catch up with his non-reprinted adventures.

There's no anguish on my part, even if I quite like this character. Just a bit of eye-rolling and thanking whoever that reprint policies are what they are now.
