It's Been A While Since I've Done This.

There seems to be a lot of new traffic coming in, so I figured it was time to do the whole introduction thing.

I'm Kevin Church. This is my blog.

Getting In Touch With Me
I can be reached via email at kevin(dot)church(at)gmail(dot)com.

If you'd like to be my "friend" on a popular social networking site, here are two links: MySpace and Facebook. No, I have no idea why I'm on them, either. I generally approve just about anyone that's not a spambot or someone I find loathsome for some other reason.

My AIM and Yahoo IM contact information is identical: just add BeaucoupKevin to your buddies and you'll be able to instantly chat with me, if I'm around. I tend to wander away from the computer with an instant message client running, so don't presume I find you personally obnoxious unless I've also declined your friend request on a social networking site.

If you use Last.fm, here is my user profile. For some reason or another, I think Twitter is pretty neat.

I am also on LiveJournal, but generally only use that account to respond to people and/or promote comics I'm working on. If it makes you feel better, you can add me as a friend there, but don't expect much from our relationship.

Comics-Related Things
I'm the creator and frequent writer of The Rack, a comic strip about a comic shop. My collaborator on this is Benjamin Birdie, a tremendously talented cartoonist who manages to make my scripts (generally scrawled on bar napkins or tattooed onto the bodies of unwilling hobos) into sequential works that I'm very proud of. What started as a way for the two us to generate snark about comics together has evolved into what I think of as a very pleasing sitcom with the occasional bit of soap operatics.

I am the co-writer (with Eureka creator Andrew Cosby) of the BOOM! Studios miniseries Cover Girl. The final issue of this should hitting stands in the near future. If you're just now becoming aware of this series and like the idea of a hapless Hollywood action hero being saved by an obnoxious female bodyguard and are willing to wait for the trade paperback, you can pre-order it through my poorly-assembled Amazon shop. Reviews have generally been positive enough to not make me hang myself.

In addition to Cover Girl, I have short stories in several BOOM! Studios productions. What Were They Thinking?!?: Monster Mash-Up features multiple "remixes" of public domain comics stories by myself, as does What Were They Thinking?!?: Go West Young Man. I've also got two stories related to the Cthulhu mythos. The first, "The Art of Noises," appeared in Cthulhu Tales: The Rising, and the second will be in the upcoming Cthulhu Tales: Tainted.

There is an interview with me concerning the remixed comics and my first Cthulhu Tales story on Newsarama.com.

Non Comics-Related Things
My (rarely updated) photoblog is located at Whiskey and Failure, but you can also view my photos on Flickr.

In addition to all of this, I also maintain a blog dedicated to my favorite pop group, Pet Shop Boys.

That should cover it. Any questions?
