Hell, you could buy a copy of the oversized Absolute Watchmen for that price AND have enough left over to pick up every other in-print Alan Moore TPB while you’re at it.
Although it looks like the Absolute copy is going for anywhere from $200 to $300 in the last 10 days or so, yet I still see it for sale at various online places for $60. I’m half tempted to buy a bunch cheaply and sell them to these idiots, except that I’d feel like I’m part of the problem then…
On second glance, it’s not currently available anywhere online (the Absolute edition, that is), but it’s being reprinted in November, so I can purchase another copy then…I’m with Bully, it’s time to sell!

Just had a look at ebay in the UK and there are a few sets where the bidding has already reached £60+ with 3 days of bidding remaining. Not yet at the ridiculous levels of the set in your picture, but getting up there. Definitely going to be selling my originals now. Mad, mad, mad.
I love how he keeps referring to the limited series as a “graphic novel” and obviously has no grasp on comic grading. Claims he was a “comic junkie” for a while? BS. And really, $500+? I have this eerie feeling the top bidder will back out.

This just goes on to show how much I hate the word Graphic Novel. It isn’t the Watchmen Graphic Novel if its in comic book form. It’s just a collection of funny books. This reminds me of the story from Gaiman where he told he a guy he wrote comic books, and after the guy figured out who he was, said “you do graphic novels, not comics”. That was a news to Gaiman.

For a minute there, I hoped that this was some of your Photoshop-Fu….then I clicked on the picture. God help us all.

The seller’s inability to grasp the subject matter at han notwithstanding, for me this would be a big MAYBE, if each issue were signed by Alan Moore, Dave Gibbons and Steve Ditko.

This is amazingly baffling. After seeing these by the score in dollar boxes for decades, it’s so freakish to see this. Mile High Comics is sold out, and they had the first issue set to $50 in NM/M. $50? Really? It’s almost like the mid-90s again.
Regarding the whole “misuse of the term ‘graphic novel’” thing, I don’t think he’s being ignorant, just anticipating the ignorance of his buyers, which is probably a wise move.
Seriously people, Amazon has the book in stock for $11. On the other hand, good on the guy/gal for getting $510 in what amounts to a tax on stupidity.

That settles it; I’m selling mine.

Wow. My Dad found an old copy of the Trade at a Tag Sale for a quarter. I wonder if I should tell him…it’s worth a fortune now!
Yeah, right.

For every issue, of every series you want to sell, there is a sucka out there waitin’ to bid it up to stratospheric heights.
