Andrew Weiss commented on Jun 22 08 at 1:27 pmIn my case, it’s a combination of three things:
1. A shift from single issues to trade collections.
2. The brain freeing up memory space for things that truly matter.
3. Creeping senility.

SanctumSanctorumComix commented on Jun 22 08 at 3:47 pmOK, BOTH of those guys are right.
However, it started for me a little when Marvel had all those “iconic-pose” covers that all looked the same.
Since my memory is more “visual-based”, I’d frequently remember a scene or panel and then think of what cover went with that story.
I’d often be able to recall all of the visual bits of the cover, including the corner box with issue number. Those poster-covers shot all that to hell, so I couldn’t even remember if I HAD a particular issue by looking at a cover scan online (or a bagged back-issue in a shoppe).

That, or there have been an awful lot of issues printed since you bought your first.
Riddering commented on Jun 22 08 at 4:48 pmIt means you’re not the guy trying to sell me Jeph Loeb’s Hulk on the strength of The Incredible Hulk 180 & 181 reprints. And that’s a good thing.

XDPaul commented on Jul 01 08 at 5:03 pmI think you are just suffering from a mind control device such as the one employed in Detective Comics #526. I recommend you implement Zarrko’s “Loki initiative” as detailed in Journey into Mystery #86.
