DESIGN FETISH: Adidas x Star Wars Sneaker Packaging

It’s blatantly aimed at the retrofetishists out there who remember buying Kenner action figures off the peg, but I don’t recall having seen shoes in a blisterpack before. More views of the shoes themselves on the Superfly Deluxe site

I agree, very cool — but how do you try them on? Though I suppose they lose all value as soon as you open them?
True collectors keep the shoes ‘mint in box’.
Call me old-fashioned, but I prefer shoes that I can try on, as well.
A Bathing Ape did a whole bunch of crossovers with Marvel and DC that I have long been covetous of. There’re a few here: http://www.bathingapee.com/Marvel-X-Bathing-ape.html
Actually if it’s the same as those, I think the blister packaging is more like a plastic shell that wraps to the edge of the cardboard and just around it. So with a little bending and (possibly) creasing you can pop the back out without too much damage to the packaging. I saw a used pair of Iron Man sneakers that were worn to fuck but still inside the relatively pristine plastic bubble.
And that is your far too thought out, completely unecessary answer of the day.
I kinda like the packaging of the unofficial Star Wars Super Stars they did a few years ago better:

I saw teaser shots of these shoes a few weeks ago, but somehow they’re less exciting now. I am interested in the Stormtrooper models, however. Until they’re actually released, I guess.
