    The BPL is actually less good-looking than that because of the interior’s awful color scheme and accumulated grime. But it’s very shapely, and the exterior is interesting too. A temple of KNOWLEDGE.

    In case you missed them, about a month ago, the Shorpy site had some additional pictures of the Library, both exterior and interior, with some interesting comments, both pro and con.

    It looks less stark than that these days. The card catalogs have been replaced with art exhibit divider thingies. And where all those curtains on the balcony are, they now have display cases where they exhibit artists’ books.
