DESIGN FETISH: Tap Water

While I’m normally a bit put off by environmentally-friendly products that tell you how environmentally-friendly they are so everyone else knows that you’re doing your part when you’re out and about, Racquel Youtzy’s design for this bottle is so well put together that I can’t help but like it. (It does look less practical than the bottles it’s designed to compete with, mind. Glass breaks too easily and while it’d be fine inside a home or restaurant, I can’t imagine taking it anywhere.)

I actually have one of these bottles and they are sturdier then you would think. It is not your typical bottled water glass bottle. These look to be twice as thick especially in the typical weak areas neck bottom etc. I actually have dropped it getting on a bus and it hit two steps, the pavement and bounced to the curb full of water and did not break… Most people carry cell phones everyday and they are a lot more prone to break when dropped than these bottles… and everyone takes them everywhere.
