DESIGN FETISH: W. Eugene Smith’s photos for the Jazz Loft Project

From the website:

Between 1957 and 1965 W. Eugene Smith made approximately 40,000 exposures both inside the loft building at 821 Sixth Avenue, of the nocturnal jazz scene, and of the street below as seen through his fourth-floor window.
Smith’s photos are candid and evocative as hell. I’ve just ordered the book that brings together a select portion of this cultural treasure trove. There will also be an exhibition in New York that I’ll likely make the trip to see.
