Phill commented on Sep 18 08 at 6:23 amI like it better than the actual trailer; it even makes me wanna see the movie.
Matt M. commented on Sep 18 08 at 12:25 pmTwenty years from now, SPEED RACER will be revered in ways that we can only dream of today.
I’m not saying it’s good, mind you. It is exactly what it is.
Evan Waters commented on Sep 18 08 at 2:03 pmFor what it is, it’s not only good, it’s close to flawless.
I find myself wanting to watch it again just to spend more time in that world.
Jeff Carricaburu commented on Sep 18 08 at 6:53 pmI don’t care what anybody says, that movie was a lot of fun.
HydrogenGuy commented on Sep 19 08 at 3:33 amThanks to you and Chris Sims, I rented this tonight. And it was glorious.
All those friends of mine who wouldn’t see it in the theatre with me are fools.
Mike C commented on Sep 19 08 at 9:09 amI loved Speed Racer. I think it’s the most unfairly panned movie in a long, long time.
Dan Coyle commented on Sep 19 08 at 4:33 pmIt’s a shame that the collective buyer’s remorse from The Matrix Trilogy prevented so many from enjoying this movie. It put a smile on my face and a spring in my step, and while it held no real surprises, it got the job done, which is more than I can say for the Wachowski’s previous three films.
Evan Waters commented on Sep 19 08 at 8:54 pmYou think that was it? Because- that has some validity, but then V FOR VENDETTA did okay with critics and audiences (for varying definitions of “okay”, it wasn’t a big hit but it wasn’t considered a flop.) Granted, they didn’t direct that one.
It may just have been too outrageous to truly be a big hit, but I still don’t think I can understand the critical hostility. Then again, THE WIZARD OF OZ took a while to be appreciated.
