You think that was it? Because- that has some validity, but then V FOR VENDETTA did okay with critics and audiences (for varying definitions of “okay”, it wasn’t a big hit but it wasn’t considered a flop.) Granted, they didn’t direct that one.

It may just have been too outrageous to truly be a big hit, but I still don’t think I can understand the critical hostility. Then again, THE WIZARD OF OZ took a while to be appreciated.

It’s a shame that the collective buyer’s remorse from The Matrix Trilogy prevented so many from enjoying this movie. It put a smile on my face and a spring in my step, and while it held no real surprises, it got the job done, which is more than I can say for the Wachowski’s previous three films.

I loved Speed Racer. I think it’s the most unfairly panned movie in a long, long time.

For what it is, it’s not only good, it’s close to flawless.

I find myself wanting to watch it again just to spend more time in that world.
