I have no idea why people think there needs to be more women in comics, do you?

(To be fair, Hughes designed this pretty boss version of Barbara Gordon in costume as well.)

Wow. Is the Adam Hughes Batgirl having a conniption or is she retarded?

The Batusi has never looked so badass before :) A+, Amanda Conner.

I really like Adam Hughes (and happen to be a woman [or reasonable facsimile]) but that statue does nothing for me. Amanda Conner’s Batgirl, however, is 100 pounds of win. (but probably weighs much less)

I love Adam Hughe’s artwork, but sometimes it just doesn’t translate particularly well to statues.

Just in case random fanboys *did* get excited by that Conner Batgirl, the toothy gargoyle protecting her crotch should poor ice water on that.

I need them all to complete my collection.

I think they are both hot, and as they are essentially pi-ups, that is what they are supposed to be. Not empowering, but Hot…

If a girl want’s a cutsey spiderman or batman sculp. they are out there, if a guy wants a hot pin-up statue they are there too.

Not to mention it is ridiculous to think that Babs knew how to sling a batarang the instant she picked them up. Why couldn’t this shot have existed, perhaps it’s one of the first times she used a batarang with a rope attached. I know that’s the look I’d have on my face trying to figure it out.

If you can’t see the difference between a “cutesy” Batman or Tokidoki Spider-Man and an incompetent Batgirl posing in a “Gosh, guys, I just don’t know what to do with myself because I’m a girl!” manner, then I think you’re probably at the wrong blog.

It sure warms my heart to know that guys find incompetent girls hot. Too bad we girls never have statue of a guy making a fool of himself with his mouth open in a pert little “o”.

Babs never had trouble with her batarang as as depicted here. I’ve read the comics, she took to the job pretty much automatically. Unrealistic, sure, but it’s a comic book.

I agree with Comics Alliance. When I see a pinup of Bruce struggling with his batarang (and why should he be excluded? This is Old School Batgirl, she was an adult hero like Batman who operated independently) with an expression like his brains have dribbled out his ears, I’ll let you boys have your hot pinups.

When I see a statue of a superhero, I want them to be confident and kicking ass. I thought that was supposed to be the point of heroes…or is that only if they have a Y chromosone?
