I read some comics today!

All-Star Batman And Robin The Boy Wonder #9 – I think you all know how I feel about this series, don’t you?

Batman #674 – It’s nice to know that Morrison knows what he’s doing, even if editorial seemed determined to make sure readers have no clue thanks to the Ra’s Al Ghul crossover that derailed this story for two long, long months.

Blue Beetle #24John Rogers, man. It’s like he reaches into my monkey brain and hits my joy buttons. Albuquerque’s art is just plain perfection on this title, a refreshing, cartoonish change from the majority of mainstream art.

Criminal Volume 2 #1 – From the spectacular, cinematic opening page to the brutal, emotional denouement, I was enthralled. A comic I honestly feel I can’t praise enough by two creators who seem deeply invested in the vein they’re mining.

Daredevil #105 – 1. Matt Murdock can not catch a break, can he? 2. Bendis should look at this take on The Hood and gaze in awe.

Kick-Ass #1 – A 22-page infomercial for Marvel Comics and cursing. Pass.

Nexus #100 – What I liked: fantastic art, a main story that’s a return to form. What I disliked: the backup story’s cheap shots at Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton and the history piece that told the readers that Jack Kirby would totally approve of Baron and Rude’s work on the title.
