I have no idea who John and Kate are. I must assume that they are either minions for – or victims of – the Joker, thus explaining Batman’s no doubt Smilex-induced glee.

I’m going to be as clear as I can, so you know I’m not lying: I laughed. It was a “pah-HAH!” sound, followed by a genuine smile as I saw just how *happy* Batman looks. Nothing was sprayed on the monitor, nothing came out my nose, I do NOT need a new keyboard, and there was no rolling on the floor. It was a good solid moment of joy, followed by a lot of bemused pondering, and frankly I’ve completely overthought it and wrung it dry so yeah i won’t be clarifying this much again anytime soon thank you
