I’m amused that it’s *Solo* Avengers starring *two* characters. Huh.
Solo Avengers would have two stories. A lead story (featuring Hawkeye) and then a back-up story featuring another Avenger. The first two (from what I remember) used Mockingbird…
Worst day at my last job – Arguing with a group of 20 year-old guys that, no, Hawkeye does NOT suck, it is GAMBIT who sucks.
There were lots of taunts of “PURPLE ARROW!” and me crying.
Uh, well, it lasted for 40 issues, surely that counts for something, right?
Right?
Well, Gerber wrote a great Hawkeye story in #30-36.

Thanks, LW!
Don’t call me Shirley…
Was Mockingbird Hawkeye’s wife at the time, per that miniseries by Grunewald?
Yes, yes she was.
The “West Coast AVengers”? Those were the guys who ran the projector for Mrs. Schwann’s social studies class in junior high, right?
I have always enjoyed how it took Marvel 20 issues to realize that since Solo Avengers didn’t get shelved alphabetically alongside Avengers at the comic book store, maybe Avengers Spotlight would be a better title.
Or AAA Avengers Locksmith And Bail Bonds.
