Don’t hold your breath for the remaining seasons of Made In Canada – it’s tied up in a rights battle, last I checked.
That having been said, if you’re into Canadian shows, Corner Gas, while almost the antithesis of The Newsroom in every way, is just about as genuinely funny.
They called Made in Canada “The Industry?†sheee…
I guess they didn’t want to scare people away from the content. You know, because Canadians are so…foreign.

Is Kids in the Hall too old to be submitted for consideration?

Kevin… stay away from Corner Gas. And KITH is never too old to be submitted for consideration. Those guys are on tour right now–with new material apparently.

What you need to pick up is Don McKeller’s Twitch City. (Unless you have already) It’s one of the greatest sitcoms out of any country.

RJ at The City Desk just told me to add that to my queue and I did!
CORNER GAS is very funny, just tonally opposite. I’m not sur eyou’ll dig it. That said, Mark Farrell, the guy in your top clip, is the head writer for that show.
When I see you at Comic-con, I’ll tell you about the night the beat me out for the Canadian Emmy.

God I loved this show, it’s up there with The Dangerous Brothers. I always bring it up whenever people mention liking News Radio but no-one has any idea what I’m talking about.
There was some kind of spin off/follow up I enjoyed too but I can’t remember anything about it. Think it was set in the States and it was either about war or cooking shows or something similar.
Have you seen the final episode? Champagne Comedy!
The Newsroom is simply the greatest Canadian sitcom ever.
I’ve been a fan for some time now.
I’ve burned through 20 episodes in the last 7 days. Now, if only Made in Canada (The Industry in the States) was completely available on DVD.

Personally, I don’t get Corner Gas, but if you want to sample full episodes online, search for it here.
