I never particularly liked The Wire, certainly not as much as I felt I ought to like it, given the opinions of people whom I respect. I feel a bit guilty about that -- more so than with respect to other things recommended by friends and regular online reads that never grabbed me (cough Buffy cough Firefly cough Heroes cough). I'll be interested in what you have to say about it.

I honestly envy you for just getting into the Wire now. Takes away the pain of waiting in between the seasons. If you dug Homicide: Life on the Streets, you’ll be happy to see some of the cast never left Baltimore.
